TRAINING DAYS FOR BOTH BEGINNERS AND
NOVICES
Dates and Times To be Confirmed. Venue - Land
and Rabbit/Game Pen near New Moss Lane Garage near Blackburn.
Cost - £15 per session.
These days have been kindly offered to N.E.W.S by
Mark Lovell at a venue specifically tailored for dogs to be
introduced to game. The days will consist of understanding
step by step methods of how to get your dog to work in the
field. Using simple methods and quite a bit of work and patience
you can start the dog and handler learning to work together.
There will be a rabbit pen that hopefully all of you will
be able to use during the day. There will be rabbits, pheasant
and partridge in the pen.
ALL DOGS MUST BE RESPECTFULLY KEPT UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES
TO BE ABLE TO TAKE PART. NO BITCHES IN SEASON ALLOWED.
The training sessions will be restricted to 8 dogs.
Please contact Jean Byrne for further information and dates
as they become available. JEAN BYRNE 01706 882253 or e-mail

SHOT OVER DAY (MOCK FIELD TRIAL)
Sat 12th Jan 2008. Venue - Near Lancaster - Cost £35
To be held in conjunction with the HWHV club. This day has
kindly been provided by Mark Lovell and the Harris End Shoot
based near Lancaster. The date will be SATURDAY 12th JANUARY
2008 with a meeting time of 9am for a 9.30 start.
Judges to be confirmed. The day will be open to 4 Weimaraners
(but I will take names for 2 reserves as well). It will be
confined to a maximum of 8 dogs overall.
The day will be run as a Field Trial but without the pressure
of being in competition. You will get chance to run your dog
separately and hunt out pheasant and partridge and hopefully
get a point for the bird to be shot for your dog to retrieve.
All dogs should get two good runs during the course of the
day, but unlike a Field Trial no dog will be put out and the
judge will give help and advice throughout the day.
PLEASE RESPECTFULLY NOTE THIS IS NOT A BEGINNERS DAY.
YOUR DOG WILL NEED TO BE WELL ON WITH TRAINING AND BE STEADY
TO SHOT AND SHEEP. ANY DOG OUT OF
CONTROL WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE GROUND. NO BITCHES IN SEASON
ALLOWED.
The ground is quite hilly and can be rough in places and strong
footwear and wet weather gear is advised. You will need to
bring your own packed lunched. The cost of the day is £35
and will be allocated on a first come basis. For those of
you interested in observing such an event, there may be a
limited number of places for people to walk the day (WITHOUT
DOGS) for a small
donation to the clubs.
To reserve a place contact Jean Byrne.
